Recent data from WHO and Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) estimated that up to 3.5 million patients could die each year from health care-associated infections (HAIs) without adequate action. The report will enable policy-makers, IPC professionals and health care workers to target their efforts to avoid preventable harm to patients as a result of HAIs.
