General Officer Assignments
The Chief of Staff, Army announces the following general officer assignments:
Lieutenant General James R. Helmly, United States Army Reserve, Chief, Army Reserve/Commanding General, United States Army Reserve Command, Washington, DC to Chief, Office of Defense Representative-Pakistan, United States Central Command, Pakistan.*
* In accordance with 10 USC 3038, the Chief, Army Reserve, while so serving, holds the rank of lieutenant general. Accordingly, when Lieutenant General Helmly's four-year tenure ends in May 2006, he will revert to the rank of major general.
