Tips, tricks, and how-to's Featured tip: Change the details shown in Windows Explorer The Details view is probably the best view for Windows Explorer and gives you specific information about a file. By default, the Details view shows a file's name, size, type, and the date modified. But you can also choose to show many other details of a file.
1. In the Details view in Windows Explorer, right-click a column heading. 2. Click an available detail that you want to display.
The new details column automatically appends to the end of the existing columns.
