Burma 'Hampering' Aid Six Months after Cyclone
The Burmese military regime's restrictions on humanitarian access
continue to prevent aid workers from helping civilians rebuild their
lives, said an emergency relief group yesterday, noting that housing,
disaster preparedness training, and access to clean drinking water
remain major concerns.

Village Mentors Tackle AIDS in Kenya
No challenge is too great for Pamela Adoyo. After the AIDS epidemic
swept through her Kenyan village, Adoyo challenged the deadly stigma
against HIV-positive people, organized local women to become
caregivers to the sick, and built an orphanage for children affected
by the epidemic.
