'Change' Predicted for U.S.-Bolivia Relations

First Int'l Criminal Trial Focuses on Child Soldiers

Court's first trial -- of Congolese warlord Thomas Lubanga Dilyo,
charged with using child soldiers in northeastern Congo -- is an
important step toward establishing responsibility for the use of

Obama Pushed to Reshape Africa Policy

WASHINGTON, Jan 28 (OneWorld.net) - U.S. President Barack Obama
should take an "inclusive and multilateral approach" to the many
humanitarian and security challenges facing Africa today, overturning
the failed "unilateral and militarized" U.S. policy toward Africa of
the last seven years, says an annual report by a Washington-based
group working for political, economic, and social justice in Africa.

New York Wins Sustainable Transport Award

WASHINGTON, Jan 28 (OneWorld.net) - New York recently became the
first U.S. city to win an annual international Sustainable Transport
Award. The city was honored for expanding the public transit system,
increasing bicycle lanes and pedestrian amenities, and recycling
asphalt used to repair streets.
