Fujitsu UMPC Is First with 2.0GHz Atom
Fujitsu has reportedly become the first PC manufacturer to adopt Intel's recently released 2.0GHz Atom. The company's FMVLUC50N UMPC (ulta-mobile PC) includes a pivoting 5.6-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth 2.0, hard drive or SSD (solid state disk) storage, and an integral fingerprint sensor, according to specialist retailer Conics.net.
Microsoft Creating New Parallel Programming Language
Microsoft is working on a new language for parallel programming named Axum. Formerly known as "Maestro," Axum is an incubation project that Microsoft is working on to help programmers tackle the issue of parallel programming in the .NET environment.

Microsoft Q3 by the Numbers
In a stunning turnabout, Microsoft's Server and Tools division reported greater revenue than the Windows Client division. The turnabout occurred during Microsoft's 2009 fiscal third quarter, ended March 31. The company announced earnings April 23 after the market close. Only Server and Tools, the division with most annuity licensing, posted significant revenue or income growth.

Don't Count Microsoft Out Just Yet
Microsoft's fiscal third quarter was the company's worst in its history. But the fundamentals remain strong. Right now there's a storm on the surface, but it causes little disturbance in the depths. Microsoft fundamentals remain strong. The foundation is solid. The company generated $5.4 billion in cash during a quarter where operating income fell 32 percent. That's impressive.
