I was really excited this week to see Patrick Cockburn's story about the Iraqi marshes. I've been following this story for years -- and the incredible efforts of the people of Iraq to restore one of the world's most amazing and ancient places -- the Mesopotamian Marshes. But according Cockburn, this effort is now in jeopardy. Take a read. Another big story that is thankfully hitting a lot of news outlets is the threat of natural gas drilling on our water supplies. Some people are finding their drinking water to be flammable (see the video below) and as Abrahm Lustgarten reports in another story, houses and well houses are igniting and the health of the water is seriously in question for many people.
