Sometimes I'll skip a trend just because it's such a bad idea for my body (like harem pants) and sometimes I'll pass on a look because it's so saturated I know I'll get sick of it too soon (like gladiator sandals).

Part of my aversion to fads is that the fashion cycle has gotten shorter and trends/fads/'It' pieces go in and out of style in a flash. It doesn't mean I just buy boring pieces, but I do try to keep my wardrobe updated without buying a closet full of looks that will be hopelessly over in just a few months.
