Greetings!

Nothing defines us as humans quite like the pets we keep!  As the owner of two dogs and a lover of all animals, I jump at the chance to celebrate our pets and the joy they bring us. So when I found out that this is National Pet Week, I just had to share it with you.

National Pet Week
May 2-8, 2010
National Pet Week was jointly founded in 1981 by the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) and the AVMA Auxiliary to foster responsible pet ownership, recognize the human-animal bond, and increase public awareness of veterinary medicine. Those of us who have pets know how invaluable veterinary care for our furry loved ones can be.  But what about those that don't have ready access to professional care due to circumstances outside of their control?

This year Peaceful Valley honors the work of the non-profit organization Pets of the Homeless (www.PetsoftheHomeless.org).
Pets of the Homeless is a nonprofit volunteer organization that provides pet food and veterinary care to the homeless and less fortunate in local communities across the United States and Canada.  These volunteer Veterinarians and Animal Caretakers work tirelessly to provide much needed services to companion animals that otherwise would be left to the street.

You can help us Celebrate National Pet Week in several ways.

-Peaceful Valley will donate 10% of the proceeds from all sales May 1st - May 15th to Pets of the Homeless in support of their committment to veterinary care for all.  Visit us today to see our wonderful collection of Tree Free Greetings featuring puppies, kittens, horses and more. www.PeacefulValleyGreetings.com

-Make a donation directly to Pets of the Homeless. www.PetsoftheHomeless.org

-Help End Petlessness!  Need a furry companion to call your own?  Visit your local No Kill Shelter or Humane Society and give a special animal his or her forever home.

Together we can make a great difference!

Never be afraid to do what's right, especially if the well-being of a person or animal is at stake. Society's punishments are small compared to the wounds we inflict on our soul when we look the other way.

I hope you'll join us in this celebration and give your pets an extra hug today!

Warmest regards,
