When I Stop Talking You’ll Know I’m Dead – Video Book Review Posted: 31 Jul 2010 01:30 AM PDT There are times when a book is the right way to go, and other times when an audiobook is what will make it all work out. I received When I Stop Talking, You’ll Know I’m Dead: Useful Stories from a Persuasive Man (amazon affiliate link) from Hachette Audio, and I’m so glad I did. The book was brilliantly read by the author, and when I say that, I mean that the book ended up feeling more like Mr. Weintraub was having a conversation with me than it felt like I was reading a book. Jerry Weintraub is a famous talent agent turned Hollywood producer who has worked with some of the biggest names in the business. This book is a look back on the ways in which he developed his career, and the many ways in which he took a leap to get from where his capabilities ended and into a place where his talent and desires led him. Here’s my video review. I can’t say enough about the audiobook. The book might or might not be useful and helpful and whatever, but the audiobook, I have to say, felt like I’d had a serious of long and meaningful talks with someone who taught me many things, and who left me feeling like I’d made a friend. It was totally wonderful, and a worthwhile experience. I hope someday to meet Mr. Weintraub, but barring that, I feel like I’ve known him for years. People always ask which camera I used to shoot my video. I use the Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX3 (that’s a review of the camera). |
