Best of the Best

Emailed to Atlanta: 8 Bit Wood

8 Bit's a collection of characters from the NES era, turned into art via blocks of pine stained and glued together to mimic huge pixels by an employee of Guitar Hero-makers Neversoft, who unfortunately never get to leverage that unique quality, as they are nerds.

Coming soon is Glass Joe from Mike Tyson's Punch Out!! Check it all out and get in touch with the maker at 8BitWood.com, and click here to see the awesomeness of Ninja Gaiden.

Emailed to Boston: AntiDesigns Fall Drop
This latest drop from the Hub tee specialists includes 24 fresh looks, like the black crewneck Slayers featuring a white cartoon hand making devil horns; Gran Papi Kane (a colorful orange/green/yellow Mexican take on Big Daddy Kane); and a grass green w/ black ink short sleeve that pays homage to The Wire's shrewdest criminal informant Bubbs -- just don't be surprised if it goes missing for a few days.

They've even picked up two new artists and overhauled the entire website! Check out the sweet new blur rollover effect at AntiDesigns.com.

Emailed to Thrillist Nation: HowMutch

Because "everyone has a price", HM runs through a series of questions asking what you'd pay/have to be paid to perform various tasks, then shows you where your threshold stands in relation to other respondents and their median $ requirement, from the amount necessary to punch a nun ($9K) or endure a year of celibacy ($60K), to what you'd pay for your own "Mini-Me", which at $25K actually represents a net loss of $85K, as how could you not literally love a tiny you?

Emailed to Miami: iRetrofone
Outta Deltona, iRetrofone hand-sculpts fully functional old-school rotary-phone-lookin' bases that you drop your iPhone into, then ring someone, and hope someone else performs an emergency breakthrough. They're made of urethane resin and come in designs like standard old-school black, the flamed-out Hot Rod, and a steampunk version that looks like it's made of tarnished metal, meaning Bret Michaels is once again good for something.

Make your iPhone look like you've got Commissioner Gordon on the other line

Emailed to Philadelphia: MechaniCards
Mechanicards are just about the craziest thing since that taxi game called Crazy Taxi: a series of cards made of paperboard and bits of wood, metal, and plastic which arrive flatpacked and unfold into tiny yet intricate paper machines that do all sorts of cool stuff, and serve as "visual and literary metaphors for human social interaction", which you'll eventually have none of if you keep sending those Blue Mountain cards.

There's a sweet video highlighting these things, after the jump
