Pete Doherty charged with drug possession

LONDON (UPI) -- British rocker Pete Doherty is free on bail after his arrest on cocaine possession charges following the death of filmmaker Robyn Whitehead, authorities said.

The Guardian said the Libertines and Babyshambles singer, who has a history of drug abuse and arrests, is due back in court next month. Doherty was arrested Wednesday as an inquiry is being conducted into Whitehead's death from a drug overdose in January.

Nickelodeon orders 'Supah Ninjas' series

LOS ANGELES (UPI) -- The U.S. cable network Nickelodeon says it has picked up a new live-action comedy series called "Supah Ninjas."

The announcement was made Thursday by Marjorie Cohn, the network's president of original programming and development.

"Supah Ninjas" follows three unsuspecting kids who are drafted into the secret world of ninjas, Nickelodeon said.

Wife: Curtis' heart was ready to go

LAS VEGAS (UPI) -- Tony Curtis' wife Jill says the Hollywood screen icon's "heart was ready to go" when he died peacefully, surrounded by loved ones.

Curtis died Wednesday of cardiac arrest. He was 85.

Rancics talks about miscarriage on 'View'

NEW YORK (UPI) -- U.S. television personality Giuliana Rancic says she and her husband Bill were heartbroken to learn her pregnancy had ended in a miscarriage.

The stars of "Giuliana and Bill," who married in 2007, were interviewed in the episode of "The View" slated to air Friday. ABC released excerpts from their pre-recorded appearance Thursday.
