Soho Beach House
A London/New York private members club hits the beach

It's always pretty sweet to be in an exclusive members-only clubs, although the group photos do look pretty silly with everyone in the same jacket. For a members-only club where you're probably just gonna walk around in swim trunks most of the time anyway, look into Soho Beach House.
The beachy offshoot of a London private members club with spots in New York and LA, SBH's an enclave shrouded in dune grass and tropical trees set right on the beach, with a 16-story deco tower housing 50 rooms, membership amenities galore, a swanky resto, and a spa called the Cowshed, also what prehistoric cows did during the Cretaceous when they were essentially the same thing as snakes. That membership gets you access to events (live music, wine tastings), plus use of the property, which boasts a 16-story oceanfront tower containing a drawing room with rare cigars, a second-floor Club Bar inspired by '40s Cuba (weathered wood, couches, fancy ceiling fans, water views), and up on the 8th floor, the Club Library, where you can work, drink, or take a dip in the pool, as long as it's after school, and really off the wall. Outside in the garden there's another (100-foot) surf-overlooking pool lined with couches and bungalows; a Tiki Bar specializing in grilled meats and seafood; and beyond that, the Beach Club with full waiter service, lounge beds, and beach huts, as well as direct access to a private beach area, which can't stand up to the Sergeant beach area, even if it wants to.
For public (non-member) consumption there's straight-outta-Venice Cecconi's Restaurant, which serves stuff like wood-oven roast scallops w/ pancetta, and Kobe tartare w/ truffle & Pecorino, while the hotel's got rooms with a rustic South American vibe (eclectic antiques, dark leather and woods), 40" flat screens, ocean-view private terraces, and "rainforest" showers, also what you call your sweet Member's Only bridal soirees at everyone's favorite mall-abutting Cafe.
