Bella Kitchen slow cookers recalled

WASHINGTON (UPI) -- The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a voluntary recall of 7,460 Bella Kitchen slow cookers due to a fire hazard.

The control panels on the cookers can overheat, posing a fire hazard, the agency said.

The 5-quart programmable cookers are black with "Bella Kitchen" printed on the control panel. The recall involves cookers with model number WJ-5000DE and date codes 0907 or 09009, the commission said.

Manhattan Group recalls activity toy

WASHINGTON (UPI) -- A Minneapolis firm is recalling about 400 Parents Busy Time Activity Centers with pegs that can come loose, posing a choking hazard, a federal agency said.

The U.S. Consumer Products Safety Commission said the toys made by Manhattan Group LLC have xylophone pegs that can come loose, posing a choking hazard.

Rhino Toys rattles recalled

WASHINGTON (UPI) -- The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a voluntary recall of 28,000 baby rattles imported by Rhino Toys due to a choking hazard.

The OBall Links and Mini Rattles were imported from China by Rhino Toys Inc. of Santa Cruz, Calif. They were sold nationwide from April 2010 through December 2010 for about $8 each.

The plastic C-links on the rattles can break, posing a chocking hazard, the commission said in a statement.

AOSOM wooden playpens recalled

WASHINGTON (UPI) -- Tualatin, Ore., firm AOSOM LLC is recalling 5,000 wooden playpens due risk of injury, a federal watchdog agency said.

The playpen can break, exposing hardware and sharp wooden edges that can injure a child, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said in a statement.

The firm has received 69 reports of playpens breaking, splitting or cracking, the commission said.
