German rail workers prepare to stirke

Frankfurt, Germany (AHN) - Germany's rail system maybe disrupted if the train drivers' union GDL commences with a planned strike on Wednesday. Should the group stop working rail freight transport and passenger transport could be affected.

The move is being spearheaded by the union in an effort to force small passenger-service companies to enter a national labor contract with higher pay for its 26,000 drivers.

Workbench components recalled

WASHINGTON (UPI) -- Global Industrial of Port Washington, N.Y., is recalling 5,000 workbench components due to misrouted electrical wiring, a federal watchdog agency said.

The company is recalling power shelves, power aprons and workbench risers, all built with electrical outlets some of which have been wired incorrectly, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said Wednesday.

Sunbeam wine bottle openers recalled

WASHINGTON (UPI) -- Sunbeam Products is recalling 159,000 wine bottle openers sold by QVC due to a laceration hazard, U.S. regulators said Wednesday.

The wine bottle openers were imported from China by Sunbeam Products of Boca Raton, Fla., and sold through QVC shopping programs from November 2010 through December 2010 for between $30 and $60.

Stethoscopes sold for Halloween recalled

WASHINGTON (UPI) -- Fun World Inc. is recalling 1,800 Halloween costumes with toy stethoscopes due to a choking hazard, U.S. regulators said Wednesday.

Fun World Inc., a division of Easter Unlimited of Carle Place, N.Y., is recalling costumes imported from China and sold as Little Pet Vet and Dr. Littles costumes. They were sold nationwide from August 2010 through October 2010 for about $15.
