Copenhagen StartupDigest
Welcome to StartupDigest Copenhagen - we highlight the coolest entrepreneurship and innovation events in and around Copenhagen.
Apologies for not sending out anything last week - I was deep into Startup Weekend. We had an amazing event, see pictures, one of many blog entries, or do a Twitter search for #swcph to get an idea of the kind of buzz the event generated. A couple of real companies are likely to emerge from the event and more importantly, lots of invaluable connections were made which will likely lead to yet more startups. Make a note, we'll be back in week 46 as part of Global Entrepreneurship Week.
More good news for European entrepreneurs: I'm pleased to announce that Startupbootcamp is part of "V-check," a very exciting pitch competition in Berlin. The winner gets 7.500K € in cool cash + 3 months of free office + more. The application deadline is March 11th so hurry up and apply.
Copenhagen StartupDigest is curated by:
Alex Farcet - Co-Founder of Startupbootcamp & Startupdenmark
What's Going On in the Copenhagen Startup Community
Nordic Fundraising Summit
When: Tuesday, March 8, 08:00 to 18:00
Where: Deloitte, Weidekampsgade 6, 2300 Copenhagen
No this isn't a pitch event for startups... It's for VCs to sit on the other side of the table and meet their LP's (limited partners in the VC's fund; in other words institutional investors such as pension funds; in other words our money!).
IDEO's Brian Rink - OPEN Lecture at CIID
When: Tuesday, March 8, 17:00 - 18:00
Where: Copenhagen Institute of Interaction Design, Toldbodgade 37b, 1253, Copenhagen K
Brian Rink is a member of world renowned IDEO's Tranformation Practice "where he helps companies and organisations rethink and rebuild their own approaches to innovation and new product development."
Frontend Meetup
When: Monday, March 14, 19:00
Where: tbd
Meetup meet-ups are picking up in CPH. Let me know if this one is active...
Nye innovationsformer i mindre virksomheder
When: Monday, March 14, 08:30 - 17:00
Where: Teknologisk Institut, Taastrup. Indgang 1, Konferencesalen, Gregersensvej, 2630 Taastrup
"Co-creation - Åben innovation - Brugerdreven innovation."
I rarely plug paying workshops and mini-conferences as they're often disguised day-long advertisements, but the agenda for this innovation day looks quite interesting and it's put on by the Danish Technology Institute, a non-profit.
Top Upcoming Copenhagen Startup Events
March 16 - Growth and the role of venture capital
March 16-17 - Computerworld Expo 2011
March 31 - UX Master Class
May 4 - Vækstfonden årsmøde
