Koch On Tape

Hey, I just wanted to give you a quick update about our grassroots effort to expose the Koch agenda. Last week, in response to my requests, more than 2,000 people pitched in to generously contribute over $50,000 to support us. Thank you!

Your investment is already paying off. Friday, when David Koch appeared at an event in Boston, we dispatched a ThinkProgress reporter to the scene. We caught Sen. Scott Brown (R-MA) on tape thanking Koch for his campaign donations and asking for more. Our exclusive reporting was picked up by The Boston Globe, Rachel Maddow, and by popular websites like The Huffington Post and Gawker.

We also thoroughly debunked David Koch's claim that he did not "directly support" Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker and his union-busting agenda.

We are making an impact—and you're helping us do it. Yesterday, Rep. Henry Waxman (D-CA), ranking member of the House energy committee, came to our offices to deliver a public speech. He said, "It apparently no longer matters in Congress what health experts and scientists think. All that seems to matter is what Koch Industries thinks." You can watch the video on ThinkProgress.

Stay up to date by following ThinkProgress on Facebook or Twitter. Thanks again for all your support. Let me know if you have any questions or comments.

Best,

Faiz

P.S. It's still not too late. If you would like to support our efforts in revealing the truth about the Koch brothers you can do so HERE.

Friend:

Success! On Tuesday, we set a goal of raising $10K over five days to keep the heat on the Koch brothers and their far-right, union-busting agenda. We blew through our goal in less than four hours.

But in the 48 hours since I wrote you last, the Koch brothers have lashed out at Think Progress, using their vast corporate and political communication networks to promote ad hominem attacks on our writers.

So we are upping the ante. New goal: $50K in five days.

Please click here and chip in $5 right now.

As more and more of you join us, we can strengthen and expand our three-year long effort to reveal the Kochs. Our strategy includes:

-- Detailing the far-right policies that the Kochs are quietly trying to push through Congress and in state capitols across the country

-- Putting the heat on politicians who want to place the Koch agenda above the public interest

-- Exposing corporate malfeasance throughout the Koch empire and promoting awareness of Koch-controlled consumer brands

We won't be intimidated. And with your help, we'll continue to give the Koch brothers what they can't handle: the truth.

Yours,

Faiz
