Ox Brand Forge
Getting medieval on your grill
Even with the microbrews on ice and the t-bones aged and ready for searing, a barbecue just isn't complete without a properly accessorized grill, and Paul Wall is always busy this weekend. Taking advantage of that to hook you up with some medieval barbecue bling: Ox Brand Forge.
Crafted by a dude with 30+ years in the metal-beatin' game, including the production of the "knife used by actor Leo Rossi in the film Maniac Cop 2", Ox's a line of hand-produced kitchen and grill utensils made using old-school forgery techniques not seen since you bought that autographed Genghis Khan magic eye poster. The tools are whipped up in his garage workshop, where steel and copper're hammered out and fastened via custom rivets to steel handles that're blackened and patina'd by getting treated (while smoldering hot) with beeswax, although until you purchase one, none of that is yours. Current offerings that look like what Conan would flip his flank steak with include a scroll-topped fork, spatula, and meat hook trio called The Suzi-Q, the extra-grippy, twisted steel-handled Knuckle, and a set with flowing curves known as The Wave, although no matter what the Beach Boys tell you, you probably shouldn't try to catch the spiked fork.
If you don't have a grill, or just want something small-and-just-as-dangerous for your neck, dude's doing up some tiny knife and axe mewelry, plus custom housewares like wall brackets and candelabras, which may provide more light than a crystal ball, but sure won't look as cool in your mouf.
