You just about get rid of one fraudster, and another pops up. Wielding the mallet today is Verizon (News - Alert), which has said it filed a lawsuit in the U.S. District Court for the District of Arizona this week against a group of people and related companies that it alleges duped people into signing up and getting charged for premium short message services, according to IDG News Service. The lawsuit names Jason Hope, Wayne DeStefano, three of their employees and their related companies, including Cylon LLC, Jawa and about 20 other company names. Verizon was not alone in singling out the defendants: the Texas attorney general filed a similar suit against the same individuals and companies. The argument is that these workers will take away jobs from Americans but the reality is many startups are founded by the best and brightest foreign-born workers who come to the US either to go to college or expressively to get a piece of the American dream.
