Apple's Next Product Event to Be Held on Oct. 4, Starring New CEO and Possibly iPhone 5


Apple may show off its newest version of the iPhone (News - Alert) on Oct. 4, according to media reports. At least those are the latest rumors. The company likely will be having a “big media event” on that day, according to All Things D.


Apple (News - Alert) possibly will start selling the iPhone 5 a few weeks from now, All Things D adds.

The media event will also be Tim Cook’s, the new CEO, first big product introduction. The prior CEO, Steve Jobs (News - Alert), got high marks for his product introductions.


“The pressure will be on Cook to turn in a good performance at the event, especially after what has so far been a very smooth leadership transition at Apple,” All Things D adds. “What will be interesting to see, of course, is if Jobs himself will also make an appearance, which is something that is likely to be determined by his health, in a decision that will be made very close to the event.”...Read More
