Apple may show off its newest version of the iPhone (News - Alert) on Oct. 4, according to media reports. At least those are the latest rumors. The company likely will be having a “big media event” on that day, according to All Things D.

The media event will also be Tim Cook’s, the new CEO, first big product introduction. The prior CEO, Steve Jobs (News
- Alert), got high marks for his product introductions.
“The pressure will be on Cook to turn in a good performance at the event, especially after what has so far been a very smooth leadership transition at Apple,” All Things D adds. “What will be interesting to see, of course, is if Jobs himself will also make an appearance, which is something that is likely to be determined by his health, in a decision that will be made very close to the event.”...Read More
