Cloud Security Report: MSPs See Fewer Threats Than In-House IT February 27, 2012 When it comes to cloud, service providers are less likely to see threats compared to traditional, in-house IT departments, according to a new study released by Alert Logic.
The Security-as-a-Service provider released its first State of Cloud Security report, which compares real world security incidents observed in hosted and cloud environments with those in traditional on-premise environments.
While service providers often manage tens of thousands of servers and applications across multiple data centers, they are composed of vast numbers of individual customer or tenant environments. The analysis found these environments tend to face a lower level of risk than on-premise environments, according to Marty McGuffin, vice president of operations at Alert Logic.
