Adding SSD cache to any server will improve compute performance, at least to a point. If the data needed for a given compute operation resides in RAM or cache, then the CPU can operate at peak efficiency. Even with more SSD cache, it is still somewhat a matter of fortunate timing if the data is cache-resident when needed. To optimize performance, software intelligence is needed to increase the odds that needed data is available. READ FULL STORY
