It's an age old question: Is college truly worth the debt most of us will be in until we reach our mid- 40s? That is something you will have to answer yourself, but one thing that is for sure: A whole lot of us are still getting our educations, and entering the good old world of student loans.
Finally details on much talked about Facebook IPO are here. The Business Insider reports that social networking giant Facebook just filed an amended S-1, which indicates that the company intends to make available 337 million shares at an expected IPO price between $28 and $35. As per the report, Facebook is selling 180 million of the shares, allowing the social networking giant to raise between $4.9 billion and $6.3 billion.
What if Survivor shook things up once again just to keep you on your toes? And no we are not just talking about boys versus girls or having all tribe members share one camp like this season. We're talking about giving each tribe a smartphone as their final tribe member as they attempt to "Outwit, Outplay and Outlast" the others.
Nothing shouts spring and summer more than sunshine, warm weather and the chance to spend more time outdoors. But in a world where technology and gadgets have become our most prized possessions and leaving them behind is just not an option, venturing outdoors can seem risky. Fear can overtake us when we think about dropping or misplacing our devices, draining the battery, losing reception, and, perhaps scariest of all -- water getting into our phones.
As a writer about all things technology, I am inundated with information about social networking: Did you hear about Project X that was launched today? Which new social game is taking over Facebook? Twitter did what? How many users does Pinterest have, again? How much creepier is Foursquare getting? Zynga bought who?
A recent announcement from investment advisory firm, Acacia Research Corporation, details the fact that it has acquired a number of patents related to digital imaging and similar technologies. The patents, originally issued to multinational consumer electronics and eyewear company Polaroid, cover technologies often found in digital cameras and camera phones.
With Facebook poised to launch its initial public offering of stock in the next few weeks, this is the kind of survey that was probably the last thing they wanted to hear, and possibly the same thing they most needed to hear. It turns out that large numbers of users are concerned about privacy issues, and a recent survey from IT security firm, Avira, illustrates just how deep the problem goes.
AT&T has asked the Federal Communications Commission for permission to halt sales of frame relay and Asynchronous Transfer Mode services on or after May 31, 2012, with FCC permission, because of declining customer demand.
