Dear Indiana,
I'm blown away. On Friday, we gave 203,319 comments to the FDA from concerned citizens like you, telling them that we don't want genetically engineered (GE) salmon. That's huge, but unfortunately we can't expect the FDA to do the right thing. At Food & Water Watch, we're already planning our next move. Can you give $50 or more to help us keep fighting against GE salmon? Since 2010, with your help, we've been able to keep the FDA from allowing GE salmon to enter our food supply. This is great, but it's going to take continued research, policy and organizing work to keep this frankenfish from reaching your plate.
That's why we're going to keep fighting GE salmon, no matter what it takes. We're gearing up to take legal action against it. Be a part of our ongoing fight by donating $50 or more today.
If GE salmon is approved, it won't just be bad news for the food you eat — GE salmon also poses huge risks to the environment, and could wipe out native salmon populations if the fish escape. Even worse, as the first animal that's been engineered for humans to eat, this frankenfish is already setting a bad precedent. In coming years, we'll see even more radical, potentially unsafe GE animals coming through the FDA's approval process.
Take the next step to stop GE salmon: https://secure3.convio.net/fww/site/Donation2?df_id=2120&2120.donation=root Thanks for taking action, Jo Miles Online Organizer Food & Water Watch act(at)fwwatch(dot)org
P.S. What happens if the FDA rejects GE salmon? New genetically engineered crops are being submitted to the FDA all the time. Your donation will help us fight them all, as well as supporting our efforts to require labels on all GE products. Please give generously to support our work against GE foods. |
