HEVC FOR YOU AND FOR ME We've been doing our best to keep you updated on High Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC), aka H.265, the new video compression standard that delivers the same visual quality as H.264, but at about half the bitrate. We're stoked to no end about the benefits of HEVC, including smaller file sizes, faster downloads, optimized streaming experiences and (gasp!) the possibility of experiencing actual 4K video content. Tears of Steel is the latest to be rendered in 4K, offering a great opportunity for widespread sampling of the quality and associated benefits of HEVC.
