New classical guitar vid + My Guitar buying adventure
Went on a bit of an adventure yesterday and bought a new guitar.

Before I jump into that story, let me get the business out of the way first, hehhe...

We got the Classical Guitar Collection coming out THIS Tuesday.

I just posted another vid and this one is a dark somber piece, perfect for a rainy day.

Check it out along with the other Classical Guitar Collection vids here:

OK STORY TIME:

I haven't bought a guitar in a long time.

I had trimmed down my electric guitar collection when I left Pennsylvania in 2012 because fraknly I didn't have room for everything. Sold my Vintage 66 Strat (at a nice profit) and my Steve Vai Ibanez Jem, along with a few other axes.

I kept a very sweet Tom Andersen guitar that I bought from Jack Frost, although I rarely play it other than I'm so used to my Gibson SG.

I used to be more of a Strat guy but that's another story for another day.

Since I've been in new england, I've been getting a lot of Spears because we've been a national distributor and they are also very nice guitars for their price range.

My only acoustic for the past few years has been a Martin.  Although, it needs maintanence and I wanted something else a bit cheaper that I don't mind traveling with.

And as I mentioend a few weeks ago, I've been playing a lot of songs lately out of the Guitar Song Collection

...and figured I would maybe have fun putting down the electric for a bit and switching over to the acoustic.

Plus I rarely treat myself to anything and it is my birthday, so I found myself seeing what the best of Craigslist had to offer.

I ended up picking up a Circa 1970s Ibanez Concord acoustic.

Beautiful cherry burst.

Frets worn down and playability could be better but it only cost me $180.

I'll do some videos with it soon!

Here's where the story gets interesting.

I got the guitar home and started to put on new strings.

Then, it happened...

The bridge peg on the low E snapped off and got stuck in the bridge.

I tried all kinds of ways to get it out for about 20 minutes and thought I was going to have to drill the sucker but eventually I was able to bang it from the inside of the guitar using the flat side of a camera battery.

My inner MacGyver was in full effect!

Got the new strings on, adjusted the bridge a bit and didn't sound too bad!

Looking forward to playing more on this axe and taking it on the road...

the end.

Hope you liked my true tale of adventure...and hope you have your own adventure today in your life and with your guitar.

Take care,

Claude

P.S.  Just one more reminder, get ready to rock like Bach on Tuesday.
