Wild landscapes and undeniable free spirit of Taos have inspired some of America’s most artistic minds. Georgia O’Keeffe, D.H. Lawrence and Ansel Adams are a few of the artistic luminaries who found inspiration here. Today, those same factors continue to inspire.

The art, music and literary communities thrive in Taos with events, residencies and performances happening almost daily. Taos’ arts calendar offers options to suit every style.

Highlights of the 2016 arts and events calendar include:

- A new traveling exhibition, Mabel Dodge Luhan & Company: American Moderns and the West, featuring over 150 works of art

- The Taos Poetry Festival, June 2-6, featuring workshops and StorySLAM at Taos Mesa Brewing

- The Taos Pow Wow, a gathering of Indian Nations at Taos Pueblo, July 8-10

- The Taos Paseo, September 23-24, featuring installation, projection and performance art
