A Drug-Free Way to Cut Your Risk of High Blood Pressure |
|
| | Matthew Makowski Senior Health Researcher |
| | | High blood pressure can go unnoticed for years.
But once the long-term effects start to set in, they can be swift and severe.
High blood pressure is a leading cause of heart disease and stroke. It's also known to be a contributing factor to memory loss, cognitive impairment and dementia.
Keeping blood pressure in check is serious business... which is why blood pressure medications are some of the most commonly prescribed in the U.S. (As we know all too well, Big Pharma never misses an opportunity to sell a solution.)
But new research has found an unlikely ally in the fight against hypertension.
And it's one we've been told to stay away from for decades... |

A Bad Rap
Health "experts" often criticize dairy products. Too much saturated fat, they say. And some have even gone so far as to vilify dairy products like milk and cheese because they contain small amounts of sodium.
That's why so many government officials and nutritionists recommend low-fat or the skim milk variety of dairy products.
Well, they're wrong...
Because it looks like negative effects from those doses of fat and sodium are more than offset by the benefits.
A large international study just published in the journal BMJ Open Diabetes Research & Care found that those who get at least two daily servings of dairy per day have a significantly reduced risk of developing high blood pressure.
But it's not just the dairy itself that matters. It's also the kind of dairy.
The researchers found that the association between reduced blood pressure and dairy consumption was strongest among those who consumed full-fat dairy products.
The observational study compiled the dietary patterns of nearly 190,000 participants in 21 countries. And this information was collected over the course of nine years, so there was a huge data set to work with.
Then the researchers broke down their eating habits...
They found that those who had at least two servings of full-fat milk, yogurt, cheese or dishes prepared with dairy products decreased their likelihood of developing high blood pressure by a whopping 28%... compared with those who ate little or no dairy products.
Now, slicing off a few chunks of cheddar each day won't replace blood pressure medications anytime soon. But it's an easy way to naturally reduce your blood pressure.
These findings are yet another example of the uninformed war against fat here in the U.S.
We'll never know how many people could have avoided blood pressure medications if the low-fat craze never happened. But it's good to finally know that whole milk in the fridge is doing us more good than harm.

Abandoning the USA Like Rats on a Sinking Ship
There's a growing trend worldwide to "strike back" at the United States for some of our economic practices. In fact, there's already a group of 23 countries agreeing to take "revenge" on the USA.
These countries think our best days are behind us... and they're abandoning ship as fast as they can. You might not believe it, but Mexico, Kuwait and Malaysia are on that list!
And if you think our "friends" turning their backs on us is bad news... you won't believe what our enemies are up to.
