The two leaders discussed working closely together to address the shared priorities set out in the U.S.-Canada Partnership Roadmap jointly announced by President Biden and Prime Minister Trudeau during their virtual bilateral meeting on February 23. Secretary Blinken and Foreign Minister Garneau spoke about our close collaboration to advance democracy and protect human rights throughout the hemisphere and around the world. The United States deeply values Canada's leadership on regional and global issues, including restoring democracy in Venezuela and Burma, and ending the practice of arbitrary detentions in state-to-state relations.
