As salaamu alaykum, Indiana—
I know, I know.
Sounds too good to be true. Like a dream, perhaps.
What if I told you it was real?
The last 10 days of the blessed month of Ramadan are almost here.
In those 10 days, there are crucial organizing efforts we'll be working on expanding:
- Working to #FreeKarim from ICE Detention;
- Passing the NO BAN Act in the Senate;
- Raising funds for Believers Bail Out to help pay cash bail for imprisoned U.S. Muslims;
- Raising funds for urgent COVID relief in India;
- Passing the Fourth Amendment Is Not For Sale Act, to stop Muslim-facing apps like Muslim PRO from spying on our communities and selling information to ICE and the military;
- Pushing the Biden administration to close Guantanamo.
These are big, morally urgent issues, which sometimes gives people the wrong idea.
We are not a big organization. We just have a few people on staff, but we take on big campaigns anyway. And — only with your help — we win them.
In the last six months alone, we've been on the winning side of three different major campaigns to free people from ICE detention.
Last year, we made Microsoft abandon a major surveillance tech program that targeted Palestinians living under occupation.
And, now that Trump's Muslim Ban has successfully been revoked, we're making sure to pass the NO BAN Act to prevent any President from doing the same.
We do all the above on relatively limited funds — but we can't do any of it without the action, and financial support, of our members like you.
The stakes of our work could not be bigger, or more serious.
We know you get that, and you love seeing the results that our Muslim-led organizing produces.

For this year's #DigitalRamadan we were privileged to work with acclaimed artist, organizer, and creative mischief-maker Saba Taj. She generously brought new life to our online hub for connection during our second pandemic Ramadan, inspired our child-like adoration for the holy month, and captivated our eyes. Muslim or not, Saba's art is for everyone to enjoy.
Thanks for all you do.
Thank you for showing up and being seen.
In solidarity,
Sijal, Linda, Lau and the MPower Change team
