She said she is speaking in hopes of preventing another family from experiencing this pain. Tricia Jones, 45, lived a mile from her mother, Debora Carmichael. The two visited often. When Carmichael said she felt sick after her first COVID-19 vaccination, Jones decided to skip it and hope for the best. But her family said that after contracting the delta variant of COVID-19, Jones died June 9. They hope no one else goes through this. The family encourages others to get the vaccine, and if not, wear a mask and socially distance no matter how inconvenient. “I miss her every day. I miss the everyday stuff, ordinary stuff that you do with people when they’re in your life,” Carmichael said. Read more about this story.
