Blinken, Secretary of State On behalf of the United States of America, I send best wishes to the people of the Slovak Republic as you celebrate the 29th occasion of your Constitution Day. Not long after Slovakia ratified its constitution, the United States and Slovakia established diplomatic ties, affirming our shared commitment to democracy, freedom, rule of law, and human rights. Since the end of the Cold War, Slovakia has anchored itself solidly within the family of democratic nations. We are proud of the support we have offered to Slovakia at critical moments in its history, and our people enjoy close personal and economic ties. Almost one million people of Slovak descent live in the United States, and more than 100 U.S. companies currently operate in Slovakia, bringing economic growth and prosperity to both nations. Slovakia continues to be a stalwart NATO Ally and promoter of regional stability and security. The United States looks forward to building upon our strong and enduring bilateral relationship.
