Texas Governor Greg Abbott is one of the worst GOP extremists in the country. Last year, he signed a series of far-right policies into law, including a Jim-Crow era voter suppression bill and the most severe abortion ban in the nation. He even launched an all-out assault on LGBTQ+ kids and their parents. Republican governors across the country are following his lead and signing similar anti-abortion and voter suppression bills into law. But here’s the good news: Abbott’s approval ratings are TANKING, with fewer than 50% of Texans voters believing he deserves another term as governor! And a recent poll shows Abbott and Beto in a TIGHT RACE, with Beto down by just two points. We have a real opportunity to turn this around and help Democrats like Beto O’Rourke bridge the gap, but not without a surge of support to help keep up our momentum.
