It’s unacceptable. // LGBTQ youth are counting on us.

The Trevor Project - Donate

Hi Friend of Trevor,

Yesterday, we experienced a targeted attack on our Crisis Services by users of 4Chan. Their goal? To disrupt The Trevor Project's ability to respond to LGBTQ young people in crisis–hoping that longer wait times would lead to more LGBTQ young people attempting suicide. Attacking a crisis services line intended to prevent suicide among young people is egregious. Our crisis counselors work around the clock to be there for LGBTQ young people who feel like they have nowhere to turn, and it's despicable that anybody would attempt to compromise our lifeline or encourage suicide.

Friend of Trevor, this is absolutely unacceptable.

Each year, 1.8 million LGBTQ young people seriously consider suicide in the U.S. Our 24/7 crisis services are a critical and necessary part of this life-saving work. An attack like this, when LGBTQ young people are heading back to school puts lives at risk.

We will not back down in the face of attacks, bullying or harassment. LGBTQ youth are counting on us and they are counting on you.

Your gift today sends a clear message to young people that you, Friend of Trevor, are with us*.

LGBTQ youth are at significantly increased risk for suicide — not because of anything inherent about their identities, but because of the stigma, bullying, violence, and discrimination that they face.

Your gift today, that will be matched $1 for $1, confirms your commitment to building a world where LGBTQ young people feel safe and valued for who they are.

In solidarity,

Kwesi Mussio

Director of Digital Supervisors

PS: Friend of Trevor, monthly gifts enable us to respond quickly to attacks like this and provide life-saving support to LGBTQ young people in need, wherever they are, 24/7/365.

*Every life-saving online gift will be matched 1:1 by our Back to School partner Medallia through September 2, 2022.
