[PRIDE MATCH] 🌈Double with Your Pride!
[[$1 for $1] Help create & connect LGBTQ young people with affirming communities
Happy Pride, Friend of Trevor!
As we come together to celebrate Pride, I want to thank you for supporting The Trevor Project. You're part of a fierce and dedicated community that allows our organization to provide best-in-class, life-saving services for LGBTQ young people 24/7/365. That is the power of us.
Twenty-five years ago, after the success of "TREVOR" — an Oscar-winning short-film I directed about a 13-year old boy whose world turns upside down when word spreads that he's gay — I soon discovered there were no 24/7 crisis lines that met the unique needs of LGBTQ young people. That weighed on me. So, I found a crisis intervention expert who helped set things up and train counselors. I enlisted my fellow "TREVOR" producer, Randy Stone, and "TREVOR's" screenwriter, Celeste Lecesne. In three months, we raised funds and The Trevor Project was born.
I'm calling on you today to help ensure that our crisis counselors are always a call, chat, or text away from LGBTQ young people who are feeling anxious, depressed, or overwhelmed.
That's why "Stories of Pride — The Power of Us" is Trevor's theme this Pride. The "Us" is you, me, and every supportive ally who unites — during Pride and every day — to create and connect LGBTQ young people with communities that celebrate and uplift them.
