Good Morning! 997s have been ripping over the last few months. Just not yesterday as only one of the five 997s to cross the block found a new home. And it wasn’t our Spotlight Car, that super-low-mileage Club Coupe with the Aerokit. |

The 997.1 Club Coupe debuted in 2005 as a special edition celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Porsche Club of America. Limited to just 50 examples for North America, it was based on the Carrera S and featured the exclusive Azurro California Metallic paint, a factory X51 Powerkit that increased output to 381 horsepower, and unique Club Coupe badging and interior trim. Combining enhanced performance with one-of-a-kind specification and extremely limited production, it has become one of the most collectible special editions of the 997 generation. |
This 2006 911 Carrera S Club Coupe, number 6 of the 50 examples produced, came finished in Azzurro California over a Stone Grey leather interior and showed just six delivery miles. In addition to the standard kit, it was further optioned with more than $7,000 in Porsche Exclusive equipment, including the Aerokit and Porsche crests embossed in the headrests. Backed by a one-owner CarFax, this was about as close to a brand-new 997.1 Club Coupe as you’re ever likely to find. |
The last 997 Club Coupe to cross the online auction block was back in March 2025, when a 59,600-mile example sold for $90,000. With just six delivery miles and the desirable factory Aerokit, the sky was the limit for our Spotlight Car. It ultimately failed to sell at a final bid of $300,000. My guess is the seller was looking to eclipse the prices we’ve recently seen for new 992 Club Coupes. After all, we’ll see more of those over the coming months, but you’re probably never going to find another 997 Club Coupe quite like this one. |

When it was time to sell my beloved C4S, I had all the options available to me. I could have listed it privately, but I didn’t want to deal with weeks of inquiries from buyers who needed financing, lowballers (I know what I got!), or tire-kickers coming to my house. I could have gone the auction route, and I’m well versed there, of course, but I just didn’t have the time to properly list the car or manage the process. I’ve got writing to do. |
In the end, I sold it to a dealer. It was simply easier, and the offer landed right in line with where I would have estimated it had I been writing about it here. |
But I really wish I had known SML reader Niket was launching VinBidders. |
VinBidders is an alternative designed specifically for vehicles like ours, promising strong value for a fraction of the effort. You submit your car in about five minutes. They send an inspector to your driveway and handle the full photo gallery at no cost to you. From there, a network of 30+ verified dealers places blind bids, competing against each other, with no public listing, no VIN history attached to the transaction, and no audience. You only pay $149 if the car sells, and the winning dealer handles all the paperwork, logistics, and payoff. Most sellers get through the process from listing to sale in under a week. |
These dealers NEED your car. And let’s be honest, they’re typically the winning bidders online anyway. Put it in front of them in five minutes and get started with VinBidders today. And if you'd like to use VinBidders to sell your car, promo code STMKT will get you $100 off the seller's listing fee so you pay only $49 and only if your car sells. |

The last time we saw this 2020 718 Cayman GT4 6-Speed was back in December of 2022 when it had 7,000 miles and sold for $127,000. Finished in Chalk with a Black leather and Alcantara interior, it was a well-specced example with PCCB brakes, Carbon Buckets, and Red stitching and other accents. Now showing 9,000 miles, comps over the last twelve months had it in the neighborhood of its previous bid, with a high estimate of $129,400. But it sold this time around at a final bid of $154,000.
This was the first Paint-to-Sample 993 C4S we’ve seen online in over 18 months, and boy was it a good one as it came finished in one of my favorite shades: Vesuvio Metallic. Showing 56,000 km (~34k miles) on the odometer, it featured a Black Full Leather interior and looked to be in very nice condition with plenty of detailed photos in the gallery including records and paint meter readings. Non-PTS examples would have had an estimate of $159,300 to $231,000. PTS? Well, it sold at a final bid of $261,000.
I was wrong, we have seen a Paint-to-Sample 991.1 GT3 RS over the last twelve months, it’s just that this 2016 911 GT3 RS was finished in PTS Oryx White and blended in with all of the other White examples I’ve seen. Showing 5,000 miles on the clock, it featured a Black leather and Alcantara interior with Acid Green piping along with PCCB brakes, Front-Axle Lift, and over $33,000 in Custom Tailoring Options. It previously sold back in February of 2022 for $216,000. This time around it hammered at a final bid of $260,000 against non-PTS examples in the low to mid $200’s.

I typically do not like 356s refinished in modern colors, but this 1964 356SC Coupe has 100% changed my mind. Refinished in White Gold Metallic, this example was completely stripped and reworked in the modern PTS color along with a Tan leather interior with Beige square-weave carpets. It doesn’t appear that the engine had work completed during said refurbishment but the seller states that the car has received regular annual maintenance, and recent service is said to have included new shifter bushings, a tune-up, valve adjustments, an oil change, transmission fluid service, and a tire rotation. The majority of SCs we’ve seen cross the online block over the past twelve months have been in the $70-85,000 range. It will be interesting to see what a modern color does to this one.
Just 235 Endurance Racing Edition 911s were built worldwide to commemorate Porsche’s 17 victories in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, and this is one of them. Finished in White with edition-specific graphics over a Black leather interior, it shows 17,000 miles, which is the lowest we’ve seen of the three to cross the block here in the last twelve months. The last two failed to sell at $79,000 with 50,500 miles and $86,000 with 26,700 miles. Will this one get the job done?
718s like this 2025 718 Cayman GTS 4.0 6-Speed have been on a tear recently with average prices increasing almost $10,000 over the last three months. This example comes finished in Vandium Grey over a Black interior, shows 2,600 miles on the clock, but is light on the options with just the paint and BOSE for an original MSRP of $106,995. Like I said though, these have been performing, so expect bids in excess of that MSRP based on the mileage.
