Good Morning! June is definitely shaping up to be the month of the Aerokit. I think I’ve written about more Aerokit-equipped 911s in the last three days than in some entire months, and they’re certainly bringing the money, especially on 996s and 997s. I’m partial to the 996.1 Aerokit myself, as I love a good taco wing. What’s your favorite? |

The 997.2 Carrera 4 GTS represented the pinnacle of the standard 997 lineup, combining the 408-horsepower Powerkit-equipped 3.8-liter flat-six with the wider all-wheel-drive body, center-lock wheels, and distinctive Alcantara-trimmed interior. Unlike the rear-wheel-drive Carrera GTS, which was offered for both 2011 and 2012, the Carrera 4 GTS was a one-year-only model for 2012. With its naturally aspirated engine, widebody stance, and limited production, it has become one of the most sought-after non-GT cars of the 997 generation. |
This 2012 911 Carrera 4 GTS Coupe came finished in Black over a Black leather interior and showed just 17,000 miles. In addition to the standard GTS equipment, it was optioned with the desirable Aerokit Cup bodywork, giving the already purposeful widebody an even more aggressive look. The gallery included hundreds of detailed photos and the car appeared to be in excellent condition throughout. While service history beyond what was listed on the CarFax was notably absent, it’s hard to argue with the presentation of this one. Still, a great car. |
Over the past twelve months, 997.2 Carrera 4 GTS values have averaged $103,900, with a low of $82,750 and a high of $135,000 for a 4,500-mile example sold back in October of last year. Despite showing more miles, you can’t argue with the spec, especially the Aerokit Cup bodywork. Buyers certainly didn’t, as our Spotlight Car sold at a final bid of $162,500, setting a new twelve-month high. |

You may have a more expensive watch in your drawer. But this will be the one on your wrist. |

Two things that always go hand in hand are Porsche and watches. Every Porschephile I know is also a watch nerd, and just like Porsches, watches can be enjoyed at all price points. |
Enter Jay Turkbas, founder of Sheffield Watches. Jay approached me two years ago when he was relaunching his new microbrand, inspired by his original Sheffield watch from the 1970s. He took that inspiration and paired it with more than 30 years in product development to bring back the classic Sheffield Dive Watch line, a name once known for honest, low-price-point quality in 1950s New York. |
Today Sheffield Watches has grown to more than 20 models and has partnered with names like Spike Feresten of Spikes Car Radio and Jay Leno, with one of my favorites, the Jay Leno’s Garage Driver’s Watch. Throughout that growth, Jay has kept the same Sheffield philosophy alive, creating watches at accessible price points that outperform expectations in build quality and performance. Give Sheffield Watches a look. I think you will be just as impressed as I am. |

This 1972 911S Coupe came refinished in Viper Green over a Black and Pepita interior and showed 2,400 miles since it was built by CPR Classic between 2015 and 2020. It looked to be a nicely-done example with its engine rebuilt to 2.7-liters using RS-spec pistons and cylinders and had some other great touches like fly cut cylinder heads and gaskets, and plenty of other work to boot. This was a hard one to put a number on as I had a reader reach out, and there just weren’t any comps out there. My ceiling was $200k, and it just about got there, selling at a final bid of $185,000.
Another day, another Aerokit. This time on a 2005 911 Carrera 4S Coupe 6-Speed. Showing 80,000 miles on the clock, this C4S was finished in a lovely color combination of Guards Red over a Natural Brown Supple Leather interior and was lightly modified with a Fabspeed exhuast and headers and featured a solid maintenance “log” along with some records and looked to be in very nice condition overall. Comps put it in the $37,700-$52,300 range, but it topped those with a final bid of $54,250. Aerokits 📈.
So much for that “Alex Job Racing” 944 Turbo as it turns out it was built by another shop. Either way, this was a nicely done driver of a race car finished in Guards Red over Black with Racaro racing seats, a Sparco steering wheel, and a rebuilt 2.5-liter four-banger putting out 400 bhp. It failed to sell at a final bid of $25,500, but is currently on offer for $29,900. No matter who built it, that doesn’t seem like a terrible price considering the work.

This 1989 944 Turbo S is definitely a wolf in sheep’s clothing as while it may look like a stock example on the outside, it’s far from it under the hood. Finished in White with a “Turbo” front fender decal over a Black and White Pasha interior, this Turbo S shows 138,200 miles and has been modified with Lindsey Racing engine wiring harness,DME, and KLR performance tunes, 3.5-inch stainless steel exhaust with cats removed, 991 GT3 RS front springs, and more. A 944 Turbo S is rare enough, with only one example selling twice in the last twelve months. But one with a mod list like this, I’d like to think somewhere in the $40-50k range, but we’ll see what bidders have to say.
Now for a wolf in wolf’s clothing. This 1977 911S Coupe 5-Speed was fitted with a longhood conversion, a sunroof delete panel, and ST-style steel fender flares before being repainted Mexico Blue and shows just 4,000 miles since the build, which was completed around 2023. The interior features Sport Seats trimmed in Black vinyl with Tartan cloth inserts and has been fitted with a 3.2-liter out back. While I do love this one, I don’t think it’s going to take on the current high of $215,000 for early G-Body builds. But it’s gotta land somewhere in the six-figure range for sure.
Aerokit-clad 996 and 997s have been doing quite well recently, so it will be interesting to see what a factory Aerokit adds to a 992. This 2024 911 Carrera 4 GTS 7-Speed features said Aerokit along with Front Axle Lift System, various carbon fiber exterior and interior appointments, LED-Matrix Design headlights in Black with PDLS+, 18-way Adaptive Sport Seats Plus, Premium Package, and much more. It’s finished in Gentian Blue Metallic over a Cohiba Brown Exclusive Manufaktur interior and shows 4,200 miles on the clock. While that’s high compared to comps, nome of those comps were specced quite like this. I’m thinking somewhere around $175k, but that Aerokit bump might just push it higher.
