Hi everyone! Do you like sukiyaki? This week, I will introduce a simpler version of sukiyaki, niku dofu.

Japanese Recipe of the Week: Niku Dofu
Niku dofu is a Japanese simmered dish mainly consists of tofu and meat. Beef is most commonly used in niku dofu. Negi, shiitake mushrooms, and shirataki noodles are often added in this dish.

Hoshi-shiitake
Hoshi-shiitake are dried shiitake mushrooms which add a great flavor and aroma in various dishes. It's a handy ingredient to keep in your pantry. I use them in nimono (simmered dishes). Hoshi-shiitake is usually rehydrated before cooking. Here is a simple instruction on how to rehydrate them.
