Where to Go

From Susan Breslow Sardone, Your Guide to Romantic Travel.
I'm just back from Las Vegas (where it rained... in the desert... for days). But no matter. With the opening of CityCenter -- the multi-billion-dollar, 21st-century, city-within-a-city -- there was plenty to explore. I bounced on beds in two of the hotels, witnessed Viva Elvis by Cirque de Soleil, and sampled some terrific restaurants. Find out here what's worth the flight.

Mandarin Oriental, Las Vegas in CityCenter
The Mandarin Oriental has a lot going for itself: It's the only established hotel brand in 67-acre CityCenter, it's the closest one to the Las Vegas Strip, and a three-star Michelin chef is cooking up magic in the kitchen. Take a Tour >

Aria Hotel in CityCenter
Aria is the largest (4,004 guest rooms!) hotel in CityCenter and the only one with a casino. Despite its architectural bona fides, it may still become known as the place where Cirque du Soleil performs its singing, dancing, acrobatic homage to Elvis (at least the skinny, young, sexy version).

My Favorite Vegas Hotels
Vegas remains one of the most romantic cities in the world, and I've singled out more spectacular hotels to recommend to you. After this week my favorite remains Encore -- but there are 10 others I'm sure you'll also enjoy.

The Best Airline to Fly to Vegas
I fly a lot, and there are major airlines that have brought me to the depth of misery before we even left the ground. So it was with trepidation that I tried this one. And wow. Wow. Instead of feeling like a prisoner, I felt like a customer. What a difference! Find out if it flies from an airport near you. If not, ask why not!
