From Carly Wickell, your Guide to Jewelry
Hats at the Kentucky Derby aren't usually as outrageous as the headwear on ladies at England's Royal Ascot. Instead, they tend to be wide-brimmed designs that reflect the style of a southern belle.

Derby Day Hats
Kentucky Derby HatsRoses are a Derby theme, and a top choice for hat decor, but orchids, camellias and hibiscus are popular, too. Ashlee Simpson opted for a white head-hugging cloche this year, but Vanessa Millinno went the opposite direction style-wise, wearing a hat with a brim almost as wide as an umbrella. Bonnie Jill Laflin's hat had a cowgirlish appeal, and Frances Robinson (aka Mrs. Smokey) looked elegant in layers of grey and black.

Tribal Inspired Jewelry
Tribal-inspired jewelry remains popular for 2010, and if you like it, you'll be happy to know that it's a look you can get with minimal investment. Think natural materials -- bamboo beads and woven strands of palm are a couple. Wooden beads are popular and are usually mixed with other components, like brightly colored gemstones, or leather, feathers and bone.

Get Ready for June Birthdays
Pearl and Alexandrite are both June birthstones, but genuine Alexandrite is rare, and usually expensive. So lots of Junies wear pearls to represent their birth dates.

The Four Cs
A group of diamond characteristics are known as the Four Cs: color, clarity, cut and carat weight. Each quality is important on its own, but you can combine them in different ways to find a diamond that suits your style, your needs and your budget.
