Gambling.com Domain sold for $2.5M USD Posted: 28 Apr 2011 05:45 AM PDT According to a German language press release sent out by Sedo this morning, the company has succesfully brokered the sale of the domain Gambling.com for $2.5 Million USD on behalf of the British Media Corp. The new owner wishes to remain anonymous – no surprise considering the recent actions of the US government against online gambling. The whois seems to still list the old owner at this point. Moniker Whois Privacy Confuses Miami Journalist Posted: 27 Apr 2011 11:34 AM PDT Miami journalist Gus Garcia-Roberts wrote a blog post on for the Miami New Times attacking “Moniker Whois Privacy Services” as a company that distributes child pornography, based on a lawsuit that names them as one of the defendants in order to get them to reveal the actual owners of the names. Unfortunately it appears that he neither tried to contact Moniker, nor felt it necessary to research more about “whois privacy”. Overstock.com buys Nameing Rights to Oakland Raiders’ Home Stadium Posted: 27 Apr 2011 11:18 AM PDT Did the company forget about their O.co brand? Overstock.com, the company that has been rebranding itself as “O” bought the naming rights to the Oakland Raiders home stadium for 6 years for $7.2 million. The stadium is now to be called “Overstock.com Coliseum“. Oddly enough this means that Overstock.com apparently has forgotten about their ongoing bid to rename themselves to O.co(m). [via Yahoo!
