Markets are beginning the new trading week on a weaker note led by worries over today's European Union Summit meeting which will focus on the Euro-zone sovereign debt problems....Asian markets started the week losing 1-1.5% .....European issues followed suit slipping .6-1%.....The Dow is being indicated to open 66 points lower....The negative sentiment could turn on a dime if the Greek debt situation resolves itself today...Hopes remain high for an imminent settlement.....Where have I heard that before?......Meanwhile the Euro currency is under selling pressure....Last trade $1.3120 down 1.04 cents against the U.S. Dollar.....Metal traders are lightening up in response....Silver is down 55 cents at $33.22.....Gold is $10.00 lower at $1722.00.....Palladium is unchanged at $691.00.....Platinum is $1608.00 off $18.00.....Over in the energy markets the price of Oil slipped 46 cents, mostly on the stronger Greenback......Last on Oil $99.10 per barrel.....In other news of importance; China's government debt is under control and remains at safe levels, Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao said in comments released Monday, even as it's National Audit Office highlighted potential risks for the financial sectors this year....
