Should Your iPad Double as a Babysitter?


We all use our tablet computers for, reading, browsing, e-mail, Facebook (News - Alert), and instant messaging, but how about keeping your children occupied? While few people would have predicted it when tablets first began appearing on the market, the number of baby and toddler apps for tablets is rising at a mystifying rate, implying that they are extremely popular. Many parents view their iPads as babysitters and tutors all rolled into one.


 Child psychologists and parents can't agree whether this is a good thing or a bad thing, according to the Hindustan Times. The two groups are generally divided about whether apps on smartphones and tablets are a help or a hindrance to child development in the first two years.
