| 🚨 There have been at least 24 fire-related deaths in the Palisades and Eaton Fires, according to the latest tally from the County of Los Angeles Department of Medical Examiner. The death toll is expected to rise as officials continue to battle the dual fires. The update comes as Gov. Gavin Newsom announced the deployment of 1,000 more California National Guard members to assist in fighting the blazes. Southern California remains under critical fire danger, with red flag warnings in effect due to dry, windy conditions. Over 8 million people are in the risk zone, and the fire threat is expected to stay critical through Tuesday and Wednesday. FEMA Administrator Deanne Criswell warned that Los Angeles is "still in such a dangerous situation" in an interview Sunday on ABC News' "This Week." 👑 Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, the Duchess and Duke of Sussex, visited the Pasadena Convention Center on Friday, where they lent their support to victims and first responders of the ongoing wildfires devastating Los Angeles. 🏛️ Jack Smith, who investigated Donald Trump over allegations of interfering with the 2020 election and unlawfully retaining classified documents after leaving the White House, has formally resigned as special counsel after submitting his final report on the probes to Attorney General Merrick Garland. 🐶 As the Los Angeles community continues to band together to support first responders and those devastated across the area by the horrific fires, one furry hero is helping deliver hope to people who need it most. | |
