Easily Add Photo Slideshow Widgets to Photoblogs Posted: 22 Sep 2008 10:17 AM CDT How can you add a photo slideshow widget to display the latest pictures from your photoblog, such that each photo clickthroughs to the image post. Wowzio is a cool service which lets you add multiple widgets displaying slideshows of your blog images. Simply enter the RSS feed url of your photoblog and Wowzio will create a set of 6 different widgets displaying the images from each post and linking them to the post url. Of course these widgets will work on any blog, but since it gathers images from the feed, photoblogs will find it particularly useful. We tried Wowzio on our Photoblog and it generated these 6 widgets, including some tag clouds and feed headlines. Now we can customise each widget to suit our needs of size, autoplay, colors, play speed etc. Here are 2 examples below and you can also see the slideshow widget at work on our front page. How to Insert Unicode Symbols in Twitter Posted: 22 Sep 2008 06:30 AM CDT I was surprised to see some top Twitter users display cool symbols in their tweets and impress their followers. Here is the little secret about how to insert those special characters and unicode symbols into your twitter posts too. The guys at the Next Web created a simple tool called TwitterKeys, available as  this bookmarklet (which you can drag to your browser bookmark toolbar, and click to use), which provides you with a floating window with all these funny symbols you can use in Twitter. This is possible because Twitter is UTF8 compatible and these symbols are part of your operating system (Character Palette on Mac, Character Map on Windows), but TwitterKeys just makes it easier to grab them. Once you click the bookmarklet on a Twitter screen, a big pop window appears with all these unicode symbols. Double click on the desired symbol, copy (CTRL+C) and paste (CTRL+V) in the Twitter post form. That’s it. Amuse your readers.
