Dr. Gro Harlem Brundtland to receive the Mahbub Ul Haq Award for Human Development The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is pleased to announce that at a ceremony on 25 September 2014, Dr. Gro Harlem Brundtland will be honored with the Mahbub Ul Haq Award for Human Development.
This Award recognizes Dr. Brundtland's outstanding achievements in advancing human development around the world. These accomplishments range from her groundbreaking work as chair of the World Commission on Environment and Development, commonly known as the "Brundtland Commission", on sustainable development, to her pioneering approach on health and climate change during her tenure as Director General at the World Health Organization.Read more |
