Cheaper is Not Better: Overcoming Price War Challenges in the IP Communications Channel Space

In the past decade or so, there have been some major changes in the communications equipment distribution marketplace. The explosion in open standards allowed interoperable products to be manufactured much more cheaply. Supply increased significantly, giving consumers more products to choose from at lower prices.


But, there’s a dark side to these changes. More supply has created a race-to-the-bottom price war in which, as it turns out, there ultimately will be few winners.

That’s the stance of Robert Messer (News - Alert), president of ABP Technology, a specialty distributor of communications equipment.
