Google Earth 5.0 Beta Released, Now Supports Time Travel and Scuba Diving

Posted: 02 Feb 2009 05:52 PM PST

Google just released a new beta version of the Google Earth product.

The new release adds historical imagery – a feature that we would have liked to call as 'time travel'. You can see how a region looked a couple of years early and compare it to how it looks today. GE 5 now also allows you to explore ocean floors. So if you were planning for a vacation in Australia for a lil' scuba diving , time to cut it down and download Google Earth 5.

For more ooohhhs and aaahhhs, view the video.
