Toshiba Looks to Cut Costs as NAND Flash Prices Fall
The company plans to cut costs by $3.3 billion next business year by slashing capital spending and contract jobs, as the chip sector doldrums and a global slowdown put the electronics group on course for its worst-ever annual loss.

Quantum Reports 19% Dip in Revenue
Despite a revenue decline, storage company Quantum's fiscal third-quarter GAAP gross margin rate was 42 percent, up from 35 percent in the third quarter of fiscal 2008 and the highest level Quantum has achieved in eight years, CEO Rick Belluzzo says.
