Summer Closet Stockers
Summer's here, so uncover a bit of your shame with this selection of seasonal gear
Tune In: Fresh Melt Water's New Lineup
1001 N 2nd St, Unit 20; Philadelphia; 267.702.3691
FMW's got fresh (oh!) tees and tanks for the impending hotness including Youth Assassin (a skull and bones covering an illicit leaf), Visual Whipit (a trippy view of a sunny meadow), and a blue tank with a splattered and spiraled design called the Deep Space Boogie, also a dance popular at conventions for people who aren't popular.
Follow through to gritty apparel at the squeaky-clean Piazza

Don It: Rothera Caps
Made in the shadow of Billy Penn, these lightweight old-school, short-brimmed cycling caps come in a dizzying range of styles: houndstooth, plaids, paisleys, and polka dots, plus a trio of Mario and Luigi jobs, which are normally just plumbing, and taste-testing fire-flowers.

Tie One On: Bacon Handmade Neckwear
Coming out of Lancaster, Bacon's creating custom neckwear in skinny, long, and bow formats, including the black w/ blue & white stripes Der Blaue Reiter Wavy, a skinny black job with a checked stripe called Prepschool Boy, a mustard yellow pintuck bow, and the skinny, gingham-printed Checkmate -- which you should enlist some help for, as you're actually not permitted to put yourself into it.
They'll also make custom ties if you've got the coin

Stripes!: A.P.C. Summer 10
Available at sugarcube: 124 N 3rd St; Philadelphia; 215.238.0825
Understated Franco-clothiers A.P.C. just dropped its summer line, including the blue-striped "70's t-shirt" tee and a short-sleeved red plaid button-up called "plaid 80's style", plus lightweight "military linen" pants, and blue-checked "vichy short" shorts, providing the best rotation of French tops and bottoms since Laetitia Casta did a cartwheel.
Get a good look at how the French use fabrics that aren't surrender flags

Run A Slant: Vintage V-Neck
Double V's doling out organic cotton tees slicked with hand-sketched screens of the Philly skyline, a tree encased in a star, a giant elephant head, and a trompe l'oeil pair of shades dangling from the neckline called the Aviator, presumably meaning the shirt'll have you flying high before crashing into a beet field (but still doing better than anyone else from Growing Pains).
V is also the Roman numeral for 5, which's totally irrelevant but...hey, cool shirts through here
